Accommodation - Kurobe Gorge

Hi, I've be travelling to this region sometime mid-November this year. I have a few question regarding Kurobe Gorge.
Where can I stay in Kurobe Gorge? I've been looking around for ryokan but choices are quite limited. One of the ryokan only accepts reservation via phone only (and I can't even speak Japanese). Are there any independent travel agents that are able do such reservation on my behalf?
OR should I just forget about staying there and do a full day trip instead?
Please advise.
