How much in U.S. dollars? 2017/4/9 06:52
Could someone tell me how much is 2,250–œ‰~ in dollars? I`m confused a little looking at this number. I`m looking for a cheap place to live and ran across a house for this much online. I wonder if this is cheap. It`s one of those suicide homes. Has anyone ever bought one? I wonder if you would be able to skip on the downpayment.

You can google it, I'll give you an example:
Type in the search field for example: 1000 yen to dollars. and click inter.
I do it always to know how much dollars is to AED since I'm from UAE and I use it for yen too.

I think the confusion lies in the way Japanese count....man (–œ) is a unit of 10,000. Therefore 2,250–œ is 2,250x10,000=22,500,000yen.

Might be that cheap, and full of rubbish, or a good buy.

One thing to watch is there might be land/property taxed owed. I was advised by some Japanese friends that sometimes the back taxes are more than the house (which is why some get abandoned).
