Tver app, not working overseas

I recently went back to Japan and while I was there I downloaded the android app Tver. I was really happy with this app and excited about being able to watch Japanese TV shows once I come back home. Like I thought this app now doesn't work at all outside of Japan. I just get an error on loading "video not found" does anyone know anyway around this or it just doesn't work outside of Japan.
