Rail/Buss Pass for Kyoto and Osaka 2017/4/22 14:13
We, a family of 4 adults, will be travelling to Osaka and Kyoto in the first 2 weeks of May 17. I would like to ask which is the best value rail/bus pass I should buy for my family to travel by train and bus in Osaka and Kyoto for sightseeing over this period, including travelling by rail from Kansai International Airport to Kyoto, then Osaka and back to Kansai International Airport?

Many thanks.

When I was in Osaka, I found the Osaka Amazing Pass x 2 days to be extremely useful. It's 3300 yen - they just raised the price - but includes unlimited subway rides, admission fees to most famous Osaka landmarks (Osaka Castle, Umeda Sky Building, Tsutenkaku, Tempozan Ferris Wheel, etc.), as well as discount at various stores/restaurants.

Kyoto is a little tricky, since the tourist spots are relatively spread out and the subway system does not go to all of them. Look at the map and do some planning geographically. A one-day Kyoto bus pass may pay off (500 yen) if you make 3 or more bus trips in a day.
