I am first time traveller to Japan and would like to know how will i use the jr pass from meguro station to osaka-uehommachi. will i pay additional amount even if i have the jr pass? thanks

Yes, you will have to pay extra, as Osaka-Uehommachi is not connected to a JR service. You can use JR to get from Meguro to a shinkansen station in Tokyo, then take the shinkansen to Shin-Osaka Station, and then use non-JR transportation to travel from there to Osaka-Uehommachi.

Or go to Tsuruhashi, which is close enough...
