Do I need a JR pass 2017/4/26 12:30
Hi I will be in Japan 16th December two nights in Tokyo then going to Hiroshima for two nights then 5 nights Kyoto and then back to Tokyo I am wanting to see the snow monkeys which is the best place to do that from Tokyo or Kyoto? And will I need a jr pass? Is 5 nights Kyoto too long? Many thanks for any info you can give me

Yes. Its a long trip . One way by shinkansen is about 18000 yen something... http://www.hyperdia.com/en/
With JR pass you cant take Nozomi Shinkansen, the fastest one. But you can take Hikari /Sakura with change in Shin-Osaka.

Winter Visitor, I get that you're trying to be funny/sarcastic, but often asking a question here yields a much quicker answer than searching through the site. If you're not going to be helpful, perhaps the forums are not for you.
