Hokkaido Economical Ticket

Hi Guys,

Stumbled upon these while searching for alternative JR passes at Hokkaido. Have anyone use the Hokkaido Economical Tickets before and are they available for purchase at the New Chitose airport?

My plan is as follows but I'm unsure if it can work out this way.

Day 1
Arrive at airport and purchase Hokkaido Economical Ticket (direction 3)
Buy train ticket (New Chitose Airport to Sapporo) and use the 1st leg of economical ticket to get to Asahikawa (Can I continue the trip w/o exiting the station?)

Day 4
Use the return leg ticket to get to Otaru (Asahikawa to Sapporo station), and then purchase a ticket for Sapporo to Otaru (again, can I continue the trip w/o exiting the station?)
