Japanese expressions

Hi people.

I was doing some research and I bumped in this Japanese expression.

My question if the following expressions means the same thing, as a different way to say the same thing or if not, what is the difference?

七転び八起き

七転八起

七顛八起

I have never seen the third one before, but upon looking it up, yes they mean the same thing.

The first one is pronounced as "nana korobi ya oki," the second and the third ones might be read the same way, or also "shichi ten hakki."

These expressions have the same meaning.
How to read is different.
七転び八起き（ななころびやおき）
七転八起（しちてんはっき）
七顛八起（しちてんはっき）
The bottom sentence uses old letters（顛）.

This is for a tattoo isn't it? Why must non-Japanese speakers get Japanese permanently marked on their skin?....

First of all.. why are you assuming that?
