Owakudani is opened or closed for visiting?

I am planning my trip to hakone coming september. I would like to know how about the condition now at Owakudani because i wish to have a ride of the ropeway to there and have a try of black egg also walk around. Thanks

Owakudani has been opened to the public since 9:00 on July 26, 2016. This is the time-limited opening. The opening hours are from 9:00 to 17:00. No one allowed to enter the region from 17:00 to 9:00 on the next day.

Owakudani is now open to the public, and the rope way is fully operational now, though I believe the rope way has its scheduled maintenance shutdown. Of course during the day only. The hiking trails are now open too.

AK, do you mean the hiking trails became open to the public recently? At least on 17 Apr 2017, the hiking trails were still closed.

Sorry if I was mistaken, but the map you showed seem to have red lines for hiking trails all over, and you said red lines were closed , so just wanted to note that it is not that all these red lines were closed.

My bad. These trails are all closed still. Apologies.
