There are some exception such as Hosenin in Ohara (Google translate says it is Hosen Azuma, I don't know why). In Kyoto some "major" temples do not allow guests to enter their building. They should have some reasons, but I think it is a shame not to enter the building. So, entering the building (be sure to take off your shoes) and sitting and take Matcha is a very good experience. Note that not all of them are Zen temple (Murin-an is not even a temple), but I don't think it is a problem.
