IC card in Sapporo

Hi! Can I use ICOCA for subway rides in Sapporo/Hokkaido or do I need to buy Kitaca?

ICOCA Card can only be used in the Kansai area. Kitaca would be best

Had no problem using my ICOCA and my friend with her PASMO in Sapporo

You can use any ic card. Each region as his own ic card brand but you can use all over Japan.
