Aomori - Oirase Stream/Lake Towada - Hirosaki

I am trying to work out if I can go from Aomori to Hirosaki via Lake Towada.
Has anyone done this route?

It will be a weekend in mid-October and I think there may be a shuttle bus? ? But I don't know if the timings will work.

On the same day? This would only leave you roughly 4 hours for the stream + lake. Up to you if that's enough (if you want my personal opinion, it's that you shouldn't bother, they're not very interesting anyway).
