D1 grand prix 2017 2017/7/2 19:00
Hi, Not sure if this is a question people would normally ask on here but here goes... We are going to be in Japan in August and have plans to travel to Ebisu circuit to watch the D1GP.

Im having trouble navigating around their website becasue its mostly in Japanese and would like to know if this is an event we should try and buy tickets for in advance or if we can turn up on the day and purchase tickets on the gate?

Thanks in advance!

D1 web mentioned, "if sold out already, no sale on the day ticket".

Use Google translate.
http://www.d1gp.co.jp/
http://www.d1gp.co.jp/03_sche/gp2017/gp1705/gp1705_tick.html
Seems "cache" of Google is better bc original web using bad script, open and scroll are not good.

On the day ticket is 1000Y up than advance no worth.

On what day of Aug entering Japan and which airport?
If HND or NRT, there is LAWSON (convenience store),
so you can check the status of the ticket sales by ticketing machine "Loppi",
and if sold out yet, you can buy it on there.
This is for concert tickets, but enter "L-Code" for searching,
https://youtu.be/Eu_z2UGEWx4
bring a voucher to cash register, admission ticket printing will start during payment.
http://l-tike.com/guide/loppi_english.html

L-Code : 21407 (for both date Sat and Sun and for all class of seats)
Checked now, some "S-Class" seats already sold out.
8/19(Sat) as R5 : https://goo.gl/72XTZv
8/20(Sun) as R6 : https://goo.gl/oLPvzs
If showing error as "time out", input "2017 GRAN TURISMO D1" into search box on page top,
http://l-tike.com/
then click big pink colored button "お申し込みはこちら" on right of the table.

BTW, Ebisu circuit placed incovenience area if started fr Tokyo,
do you understand how to reach there? (by what, traveling time and costs)

Hi, Thank you for the information. We are landing in Narita on the 17th August and will have car hire so we will be driving to Ebisu.

I must admit I will be surprised if it's sold out as it's never looked very busy when we have watched on tv but if we manage to book tickets before it will not be a concern.

No exact if the tickets will be sold out or not by that day,
if successed driving fr NRT you may feel a little far, but basically no worry
if someone did not eat ice or softcreams too much and cool down the stomach at parking of expway.
If eating Japanese style "shaved ice" in a hurry,
you may feel head ringing 'kiiiiin' as short pain sound, be careful.

Around the Ebisu(mid of Fukushima) is a basin, summer is easy to get the heat no good.
So don't forget sunburn measures and hydration.
Also, mountains are close, "mosquitoes" closing to someone anytime.

(Many people are really surprised this small "itchiness" who coming fr no mosquitoes country.)
But they have no bad poisons and serious pathogens,
however, they love "alcohol smell" as a sensor to search for humans as a prey.

If you or someone are driving in Japan first time, pls read this q.

Anyway, still have enough time, so it would be better to think "Plan B" when it was sold out.
If you have a plan to stay in Tokyo, it is not real drift, but may fun to try experiencing this game.

Ebisu provided "Drift School" and new fun menu "Drift Taxi" started though,

but haven't confirmed whether it can be booked even on race holding days.
