Visa extension or re-apply?

I am a Filipina and was granted a Japan visa April 18th 2017. I was suppose to tour Japan May 5. My grandmother got very sick and I have to re-book the flight for June. Unfortunately, I got a new car and got car-napped 2 days before my departure. So again, I have to re-book the flight. I was able to get the car back July 2 but now, I am advise not to travel outside the country until the hearing for the case (the carnapper is detained and awaiting trial) is done late this July. My visa is expiring this July 18th and I don't know what to do. If I don't use it, would I not be granted a new visa once I applied again? How do I go from here?
