Does it sound native Japanese? 2017/7/14 11:32
Hello everyone, my friend did a song and he was wondering if he sounds native Japanese, (He is 100% American).

He says that his Japanese friends tell him he sounds native, but, he says that most of the time his Japanese friends try to not say anything negative, so they might just tell him that for his feelings.

He asked me and I don't think he quite sounds native but then again, I'm not Japanese.

So, what do you think? does he sound native? Or does he just sound like a gaijin with good pronunciation?

(Scale it from 1-10 please)

Thanks in advance.

100% does not sound native. Sounds like a gaijin with *reasonable* pronunciation but unquestionably gaijin.

My 2 cents...

IMO, (100 pt /max)
20 pt : as song (lyrics, vocal, melody, barance)
55 pt : as pronunciation (even if a poetry reading)
68 pt : as Japanese sentences written by foreigners
(よう is wrong, "よー", and "ならなかった" better than "できなかった")

That Japanse style like this song. (track no.1 "花")

He is the only one who sings Japanese perfectly than the Japanese.

Anyway, no need Japanese part also second half all.

This is sold in Japan, but this is not for improving Japanese.
