JR East-South Hokkaido Pass 2017/7/25 14:06
Has anyone used the JR East-South Hokkaido pass to travel to Tomamu? It is borderline cost effective for my Hokkaido plans IF it includes travel to Tomamu.

Any ideas?

Current Hokkaido plan is for mid-October
New-Chitose Airport - Tomamu (overnight)
Tomamu - Sapporo (3 days)
Sapporo - Noboribetsu Onsen (overnight)
Noboribetsu Onsen - Hakodate (overnight)
Hakodate - Aomori

Use "HyperDia" for calc as no discount regular fare.

Thanks Tnim, I have used Hyperdia to cheeck the fare costs and a JR East-South pass will be cost effective IF it includes the train to Tomamu. Unfortunately the maps I have found are unclear.

Sadly, the Flex 4-day JR Hokkaido pass doesn't quite break even.

I would look at the 4 day flexi or 7 day passes instead. 22K or 24K yen. And pay the difference to get to Aomori through the Seikan Tunnel.
