Thanks

I agree on Chichibu but it obviously depends on your interests and previously visited spots. Other great possibilities are Kamakura (I personally like Kitakamakura better than the main Kamakura sights). Also Enoshima is great. But Chichibu is really nice. You can make a small pilgrimage to a number of temples. I would suggest to go to Urayamaguchi Station and visit the 3-4 temples that are around there. They are easily reached on foot (no hiking just walking), quite different from each other and scenic. My preferred one is temple # 28. You can also eat there. There are a number of options but don't miss the pancake! There is also a cave right there that you can visit. https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1FTwG_1aC38rW9olEeOM-CcmnGWA&... Chichibu is definitely off the beaten track but nice. You can even go to an Onsen there and soak after a long day walking. I do NOT recommend Kawagoe. I find the traffic on the Main Street with its attractions very disturbing. Enjoy your trip to Japan!

It depends how far you want to travel but Kamakura is a great place. I don't know Kitakamakura enough yet, but that will change :) I must add Chichibu to the list, thanks

Nikko is nice, combination of nature and some impressive shrines.
