To Mother Farm from Tokyo 2008/9/6 17:30
I'm planning to bring my 2 kids to Mother Farm. We will be staying at the Hyatt Regency in Shinjuku. I really can't figure out how to get there from the hotel. Directions will be appreciated. Is there a tour company which can arrange this for us? Should we go on a weekday or weekend?

The closest train station is JR Kimitsu Station, from where you can take a taxi or a free shuttle bus, for which you need to make an advance reservation (phone: 0439-37-3211).

Car or tour recommendation 2008/9/9 08:55
Thanks Uji! It seems to be a really long journey (almost 2 hours each way?). This is our first trip and so we are unfamiliar with the transportation system. Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced car company with a driver or a tour company who can arrange transportation for us direct from the hotel to the farm and back?

Chuo-Sobu line (local) 2008/9/9 10:38
If I want to go from Shinjuku to Chiba, can I just take the Chuo-Sobu (local) line (yellow train?) straight to Chiba, without getting out at Ochanomizu to change trains? Would this be the easiest way? Thanks!

been threre last year 2008/11/2 20:09
Hope this is not too late. I went to Mother Farm last April and it worth the trip especially if you have young kids.

We asked the concierge at our hotel (Keio Plaza Shinjuku) to reserve the seat for a round trip free shuttle bus which run between Kimitsu station and the farm. I think this works best because the farm is on the top of a mountain.

As for how to get to Kimitsu, if I remember correctly we took the JR Uchibo Line. It takes about 2 hours from Shinjuku to get there (including approx 30 min shuttle bus ride).
