Sake Set 2009/4/28 07:51
I was wondering how much will a sake set cost? I have been asked to get a sake set from Japan. Can I get this from the 100yen shops?

Yes, as a matter of fact, 100 Yen Shops have surprisingly beautiful sake sets. However, you might have to pay 100 yen for the main bottle and an additional 100 yen for each cup or maybe a set of cups. Still, you should be able to get an entire set for under 500 yen at a 100 yen shop.

True?: ceramic ones? Never thought of looking in a 100Y shop, and found other places quite expensive. Will definitely look next trip!

You won't find sake sets at any 100 yen shop. You should go to larger ones.

So will there be any sake sets at the 100yen shops or not? How much does a set normally cost?

shopgal,

So will there be any sake sets at the 100yen shops or not?

Uji suggested that you should try *large* 100-yen shops, as not just *any* and every 100-yen shop is likely to carry them as part of their stock.

Prices can really range - depending on materials and designs :) A quick look on the net showed me ceramic set around 1,000 yen, glass one at 4,000 yen, and a "designer" set at 40,000 yen!! Whew...
