Tsukiji with children? 2009/6/30
Tokyo 23-ku
Planning to visit Tsukiji fish market with our 6 year old but I've read in several places that it's not a good idea to bring small children. Anyone done this or have any advice?

Don't take a kid there 2009/6/30
I would not take a six year old child into Tsukiji if you are planning on walking through the fish market area. However, if you are just going to eat sushi, then it's okay. It's too busy and hectic in that area, remember that these people are professionals and doing business, don't take a child into their work area-it's not a tourist destination.

It's dangerous 2009/6/30
The market area has mini-trucks flying all over carrying goods. It's even dangerous for adults if they're not careful. Don't take a 6-year old back into the fish market area.

no kids 2009/6/30
Tsukiji fish area is not for children: its narrow, wet and slippery, and has lots of fast moving vehicles. The outer produce market may be OK, and that's where the restaurants are
