Koyo Forecast for Year 2009? 2009/7/16
Nikko
I'm planning for koyo viewing in Nikko around Oct 25-28. I don't know if it's at its peak by that time. I'm afraid to visit there too early and it's still green. I called the Japanese Tourism in my country for the forecast of 2009, they said they don't have it yet. I've also searched in website but there're just an average period. Any idea about this year forecast ?

Thanks a lot

Nikko has autumn colors from late September through early November on different altitudes. It is difficult to miss.

You Might Be In Luck! 2009/8/22
Recently it was forecasted that Japan would be experiencing an early Autumn season this year! We're already starting to cool down a bit earlier than usual, so you might be lucky enough to catch the beginning of the leaves turning if it gets cool enough! :) Hope you have a wonderful trip!

Koyo Forecast for year 2009 2009/10/18
We will be in Kyoto and Koyasan the first week in November. Any chance the leaves will be turning yet?

Koya-san 2009/10/18
For the first week of Nov., I think you stand a better chance of seeing Koyo in Koya-san. Late Nov. is better for Kyoto. Here are a few references for Koya-san:
