Dear visitor, if you know the answer to this question, please post it. Thank you! Hakone free pass 2009/7/22 Hakone I am planning my 1st trip to Japan and plan to stay in Hakone for one night. I will purchase the 7-day JR rail pass and leave from Tokyo on it and get off at Odawarra station where I will purchase the 2-day Hakone free area pass. Does the price of this pass include the Hakone ropeway and boat ride on Lake Ashi or is this a separate cost? The sightseeing boats are included. But only one of two boat companies. Also is there a cost involved to enter into pavillions and temples throughout Japan? Major temples charge an admission fee of typically 200-1000 yen. The average is around 200 yen in Kamakura. Around 500 yen in Kyoto. I am not sure what you mean with "pavilions". by Uji rate this post as useful
