Dear visitor, if you know the answer to this question, please post it. Thank you! 18m Gundam in Odaiba, Tokyo 2009/7/23 Tokyo 23-ku Hi, I will be arriving at Narita at 15:00. I will be staying at the Shinjuku Prince Hotel. Would I have enough time to go see the 18m (1:1 scale) Gundam in Odaiba before closing? That's assuming I will check in and drop off the luggage at the hotel first. From the website, I THINK it's opened till 8pm? I can't read Japanese. http://www.greentokyo-gundam.jp/ Can you also provide me some directions on how to get there from Shinjuku Station? Thanks in advance! by michiwichi   ... 2009/7/23 It typically takes about 60-90 minutes from landing at the airport to the boarding of the train into Tokyo. Then another 60-90 minutes until you arrive in central Tokyo. Accessing your hotel, checking in and getting back to the station probably takes another 30 minutes at a fast pace, followed by a 30 minute train ride to Odaiba (Saikyo/Rinkai Line to Tokyo Teleport), from where it is probably another 15 minutes to the statue. If you flight is not delayed and everything goes relatively smooth, you should probably arrive there around 7pm, one hour before closing time. But if the flight gets delayed, you just miss a train departure or get lost in Shinjuku, it could easily get 8pm by the time you arrive in Odaiba. by Uji rate this post as useful Gundam 2009/7/23 Michiwichi, When it says the site closes at 8 pm, I think that just means the attractions and stands there. Question is, do they start taking it down on Sept 1st? Will it still be standing on the evening of the 31st? Will it still be standing on the evening of the 31st? I think it is very unlikely that they will start dismantling it immediately on the 31st.
