Climbing Mt Fuji at the end of August 2009/7/25
Hi there

I want to climb Mt Fuji around the end of August (either 31st or 1st of Sept) as I wanted to miss the very busy period (not that I want to go up completely on my own but from some of the reports I have read it sounds a bit too hectic earlier in the month) .

Does anyone know whether there will still be as many people climbing at this time as during the middle of August and also, when the weather/conditions begin to change dramatically?

Generally speaking, the weather does not change drastically yet. Of course, you have to check the weather day by day. There can be days with bad weather even in mid August in which case you should cancel your ascent.

Some transportation to some 5th Stations becomes considerably worse from September 1:

Mt fuji 2009/7/27
Thanks! I will check the weather the day before. I want to climb from the bottom all the way up rather than going from the 5th station.

Do you think there will be many people around that time?

Round trip bus 2009/7/28
I want to add one question here. hope someone can help. I want to take 8/31/09 bus up to Fujinomia 5th station and get down the next day. There will be no bus service on 9/1/09 on the same 5th station. I a wondering if I can buy a round trip bus ticket and use the bus from Gotemba 5th station ---- are they the same bus company?

climbing Mt. Fuji on the 3 September 2009/8/9
Hi there,

I would like to climb Mt. Fuji on the 3rd of September. Is it still possible to get transportation to the 5th station and which huts are open to stay there for the night? The Kawaguchiko route sounds like the most promising one?!Thanks!
