Sapporo to Tokyo 2009/8/5 Sapporo I am planning on turning in the Exchange Order for a JR Pass in Narita on Sat 22 Aug, and would like to catch a night train from Sapporo to Ueno on Fri 4 September. The opposite route (Ueno to Sapporo) on Sun 23 Aug is fully booked based on previous responses (thank you!). Will I manage to reserve a twin private room on Hokutosei on Sat 22, or is it likely to be sold out already? The "Hamanasu" night train from Aomori (departing 2242) to Sapporo (arriving 0607) currently has vacancies in both sleeping cars and seating cars for that weekend, but I think it is risky to assume that seats would still be available for booking by the time you arrive. by Dave in Saitama (guest) rate this post as useful Flight options? 2009/8/6 Thank you Dave in Saitama. it looks like I will need to use the night train in another occasion.
