Solo woman seeking nice Izu beach 2009/8/5
Izu Peninsula
I want to go to Izu Peninsula for 3 days of sun, sand and sea. Seeking reasonably-priced hotel or hostel, preferably Western-style room (I want some furniture!). I'm alone. Not looking for onsen. I don't know Japanese. I'm coming from Ninomiya, Kanagawa. I'd like to go on Sunday, Aug. 9.

Do some shopping yourself.

Personally, I prefer pensions over larger hotels when it comes to Izu.

Thank you, I've been researching 2009/8/6
Thank you both for taking the time. I had actually been spending quite a lot of time looking up info myself. My lack of the language caused me to finally ask for help. Also, sometimes others know of places that may not be advertised a lot. Unfortunately, I still can't understand most of what you provided, as they're in Japanese. But I can call the places and see if anyone can understand me. :-)

Thanks again.

Hoping to help you 2009/8/6
Ana,

Apparently, the less advertised places don't have English info. If you have any specific info in mind that you'd like to know more about, post them and someone may be able to read the Japanese in order to answer any specific questions you might have about them.

Just as an example, among the links I posted previously, Isana Resort is owned by a trilingual couple and they can respond to you in English or Taiwanese if you give them a call or send an email.

I recall that Dejavu had some English info on their wall, so perhaps they can speak or write some English as well.

Needless to say, all the hostels I provided info of fits your needs you specified in your original post, except that I haven't checked availability. In small hostels, they often don't tell you the real availability unless you personally give them a phone call.
