Ryokan onsens 2009/8/17 Niigata Was just wondering what the deal was for going to an onsen attatched to a ryokan, whether or not you can use it if you're not a staying guest? The onsens I'm probably visiting will be either yutagami, senami or tsukioka in the Niigata area. It entirely depends on the ryokan! Some allow it. Some don't. This means that there are usually quite a few baths to choose from. The following page has lists of baths that are open to non-staying travelers: http://www2b.biglobe.ne.jp/~kondo/onsen/kaetsu.htm There are 15 listings for Senami Onsen (���g����) and 20 listings for Tsukioka Onsen (��������) For Yutagami, the page lists just one place, and it seems that a daytime visit by non-staying guests is coupled with a lunch: http://www.oyanagi.co.jp/index.shtml by Uji rate this post as useful ... 2009/8/18 The letters in the fourth column, by the way, are ratings.
