Shinjuku to Gotemba and Oshino Hakkai 2009/8/18 Is it possible to go from Shinjuku by bus or train to Gotemba Shopping Outlet and stop by Oshino Hakkai on the way? Last year I had a Hakone Pass so I don't need to go to Hakone again this time. I just want to go to the Outlet and Oshino Hakkai this time. by AdventureTraveler (guest)   ... 2009/8/18 Is it possible to go from Shinjuku by bus or train to Gotemba Shopping Outlet and stop by Oshino Hakkai on the way? Yes, although, it would be a detour, because Oshino Hakkai is not located along the way. The easiest way would be to take one of the few highway buses that go directly from Shinjuku to Oshino Hakkai (2 hours) and then take buses to the outlet (typcially 2 transfers are required along the way).
