Hakone Free Pass bought in free area 2009/8/19
Hakone
Hi travelers.

I'm planning to stay in Hakone area for 2 days.

I will arrive to Hakone from Kyoto and return to Tokyo. I'm thiking that it would be nice for us to buy the Hakone Free Pass for these days but, do you know if it's possible to buy the Hakone Free Pass inside the free area that includes to return to Tokio?

I've understood that if you go out from Shinjuku (5.000Y) the round trip is included, and if tou buy the tiket inside the free area (3.900Y) it is not included. Is is posible to buy inside the free area the expensive one (5.000Y)?

Thanks in advance

The expensigve pass is only good value if you do a return trip from Tokyo. If you just travel one way (as you suggest) then a cheap HFP and a single ticket to Shinjuku is cheapest.

Hakone Free Pass bought in free area 2009/8/19
Thanks Hikari365 for your quick answer.

I don't know what is HFP ¿?

The information that I have to return to Tokyo is from Hyperdia, with SHINKANSEN KODAMA 668 from HkoneYumoto to Tokyo = 3740Y.

That is more expensive than to buy a Hakone Free Pass for 2 days, visit Hakone free area and to return to Tokyo (5.000Y).

Am I loosing something? :)

Thanks in advance.

Odakyu line 2009/8/19
Coming from Kyoto by JR train? So go till Odawara, here buy the Yen 3900 Hakone Free Pass and afterwards it is valid till Odawara again. Here you can buy a Yen 850 ticket for the Odakyu line ( also issuer of the Hakone Free Pass ) train to Tokyo-Shinjuku. So even cheaper than the Yen 5000 Hakone Free Pass. If you have a valid JR Railpass on day of departure from Odawara then you can even take the shinkansen to Tokyo-Shinagawa or Tokyo station.

Thanks Peter.

Where can I found the timetable for the Odakyu line? I don't have the JR Pass.

Thanks in advance.

Shinkansen versus Odakyuline 2009/8/19
Shinkansen is the most expensive train from Odawara to Tokyo. Under hyperdia you can find the Odakyu lines only when you enter:
From Odawara to Shinjuku and passed point Sagamiono and unreserved.
