Dear visitor, if you know the answer to this question, please post it. Thank you! Stay or make a day trip to Lake Toya 2009/8/19 Hokkaido I am planning to travel to Hokkaido in this comming Oct'09. I had decided to stay in Sapporo for 4 nights but I have not decide whether to extend 1 day to stay in Lake Toya or just make a day trip then come back to Sapporo. Understand that there (Lake Toya) will have a fire work at night. We are very interested to see this fire work. If we choice to have a day trip, then what time is the last train to Sapporo? We are planning to go to Houheikyou, Noboribetsu, Otaru and Asahikawa as well. What will be the best itinerary for this 4 days? Any suggestion will be appreciated? by lyong   Hokk 2009/8/19 Hi Lyong. It seems a shame to go to Hokkaido and just stay in Sapporo. Sure it is a cool city, but the real reason for most people going to Hokk is to enjoy the great outdoors an the countryside, not be stuck in a mini Tokyo! If at all possible I suggest you look at an overnight stay in Toya, or one of the othe rplaces you mentioned. This will give more time to enjoy the rural scenery of Hokkaido.
