Thank you! can Suica be used on JR? 2009/8/21 Me and my family are going to Tokyo for the first time.. we will be staying in the Shinjuku area, and plan on visiting mt. Fuji and Kyoto... other than that we will be staying in Tokyo.. I was thinking bout getting a JR east pass.. will I really need it or will the suica card get us around just fine?? by johnny kash (guest)   ... 2009/8/21 Neither the JR East Pass nor Suica will get you from Tokyo to Kyoto! For travel around Tokyo, Suica will be just fine. For access to Mount Fuji, a JR East Pass does not make sense. You could visit it along your way to Kyoto. A nationawide Japan Rail Pass pays off if you travel from Tokyo to Kyoto and return within seven days. by Uji rate this post as useful
