Advice on itinerary to Japan Tokyo 2009/8/30
Tokyo 23-ku
My hubby & I plus my 2 boys aged 7 & 9 will be going Tokyo from 24th Nov-3th Dec. I have planned my tentative itinerary for the 8 nites.

24/11@ 2345hrs-SQ nite flight to Narita Airport

25/11@ 0730- Arrived
Plan to take KEISEI Oshiage line to Aoto station then transfer to Oshiage, walk to hanzomon line then to take train to hanzomon station exit 5 & chk in Monterey Hanzomon Hotel.
(Is this the cheapest way? How much is the whole journey?)

Chk in luggages then proceed to Imperial Place.
(Fr Hanzonmon stn then transfer to Shinochanomizu & to Nijubashimae stn.)

Harujuku

Shibuya

26/11 Disneyland

27/11 Disneysea

28/11 Mt Fuji

Shall I book online first or book when I reach Hotel? Where can I book then?
(It'll be a Saturday, is it a good idea?)

29/11 Odaiba & hot spring there.
Hanzonmom transfer to Akasaka Mitsuke then to Shimbashi-Shiodome & proceed to take Yurikamome

30/11 Tsukiji Fish market
Hanzonmon-Akasaka Mitsuke-Ginza-Tsukiji

Asakusa Temple
KIV Ueno Park(Is it worth going)

Ginza

1/12 Metropolitan Government Building Obs Deck
Shinjuku
Roppongi hill

2/12 Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden
Chk out MH hotel then take train to Garden Narita Hotel.
(Which is the cheapest way to go there?)

Narita City

3/12 1130hr Flight back to S'pore

Just wondering if my plan is ok & please tell me what kind of transport ticket or cards shall I buy.
Are all the subway routes correct? And are there any other places that I should visit?
Will appreciate your advice. Thank you so much!

Arrived
Plan to take KEISEI Oshiage line to Aoto station

The Oshiage Line operates between Aoto and Oshiage. From Narita Airport to Aoto, take a limited express train along the Keisei Main Line.

Is this the cheapest way? How much is the whole journey?

Yes. 1180 yen.

Shall I book online first or book when I reach Hotel?

Advance reservations are highly recommended.

Where can I book then?

On the internet. For example:
http://www.japanican.com/
http://travel.rakuten.co.jp/en

It'll be a Saturday, is it a good idea?

For less crowds (and possibly lower hotel rates), I recommend to schedule your trip to Mount Fuji for a weekday rather than a weekend.

Chk out MH hotel then take train to Garden Narita Hotel.
(Which is the cheapest way to go there?)

Same route like when you came in the opposite direction. Catch the hotel shuttle bus from either Narita Airport or Narita Station:
http://www.ishinhotels.com/garden-narita/en/access/inde...

please tell me what kind of transport ticket or cards shall I buy.

I recommend to use a Suica or Pasmo prepaid card:

The Hotel Park Side looks much more convenient to me, as it is located near the Yamanote Line and offers easier and faster airport access.

When is a good day & time to go HARAJUKU 2009/9/1
Dear Uji-san

Thank you so much for your prompt reply again.

And thanks for your suggestion & I have reserved the room at Hotel Park Side. So I have made some alteration in my itinerary. Please give me advice.

Day 1 @0730hr-Arrived narita airport.
Odaiba

Day 2- Disneyland

Day 3- Mt fuji day tour

Day 4- Fish market-Imperial Palace-Ginza

Day 5- Shinjuku- metropolitan Gov Building -Harajuku then KIV Shibuya
(Is Sunday a good day to go Harajuku so that I can see more teenages in costumes? What is the best time?)

Day 6- Disneysea

Day 7- Asakusa Temple- Roppongi Hill
(May have some free time here, where else can I go?)

Day 8-Ueno Park or Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden
(Which garden is worth going?)

Check out Hotel & proceed to Garden Narita Hotel
Narita City

Day 9- Home sweet home

With this Itinerary, I think I'll use more of the jr line so do I just buy the suica or pasmo card?

BTW where can I find Blurberry blue label items? And is Gotemba outlet worth going cos I understand the journey there is very expensive.

Thank you once again!

Is Sunday a good day to go Harajuku so that I can see more teenages in costumes?

Yes, in fact it is the only day to see them in costumes.

Day 8-Ueno Park or Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden
(Which garden is worth going?)

Ueno Park for various museums and a zoo. Shinjuku Gyoen is a nice city park, but not outstanding outside of the cherry blossom season. For Japanese gardens, I recommend Rikugien or Koishikawa Korakuen, instead.

With this Itinerary, I think I'll use more of the jr line so do I just buy the suica or pasmo card?

Suica and Pasmo can be used on virtually all JR and non-JR transportation in the Greater Tokyo area.

And is Gotemba outlet worth going cos I understand the journey there is very expensive.

Only if you are into shopping and believe that the outlet mall in Gotemba has some shops that you think are worth the time-consuming access:

Stay Tokyo or narita city 2009/9/2
Another question..Since I'll be staying at Parkside which is easy access to airportinstead of Monterey Hanzonmon, I'm reconsidering shall I proceed to Garden Narita on my last nite..Is the shuttle service easier than keisei skyliner? Which is faster? And is there anything in Narita city worth going or shall I just in Tokyo?
