From there it is very convinient to reach most of the famous sights. Also the surrounding leave nothing to be desired. You can reach Shinsaibashi area in walking distance where you find plenty nice restaurants and bars to meet local people. For staying purposes I can highly recommend the Swissotel Nankai Osaka. The service is outstanding and you have everything around you. For shopping try Namba Park which is near by the Hotel! A 10-15 minute walk to the next train station and the shops and attractions of the Umeda district.
