Thank you! nikko day trip 2009/9/20 Nikko i would like to go to nikko for 1 day trip in early november for autumn foliage. want to visit lake chuzenji, kegon falls and maybe ryuzu falls (if it's worth going). i might visit the Toshogu shrines briefly. - i do not have a JR pass and am departing from Tokyo. what is the best/fastest way to get there and around? what train/bus tickets should i buy? - how early must we depart Tokyo to avoid traffic? by frankc99 (guest)   ... 2009/9/21 By early November, autumn colors will be descending into lower elevations of Nikko. Most of the color will have disappeared in the higher elevations, e.g. around Lake Chuzenji. Ryuzu no taki, in particular, will be naked.
