Ryokan in Kyoto 2009/9/24 Kyoto City I am looking for a Ryokan in the Kyoto area that meets these criteria and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions? It's difficult to weed through the thousands of ryokans and the searches I have found are limited. -In the Kyoto area -Private (pref. outdoor) bath -an onsen would be wonderful -Can accomodate 4 people -Price 30,000 yen or less per person (this is where I'm having a difficult time) I understand meals are normally included with higher end ryokans, but I would also be fine if they weren't. Am I looking for something impossible or is this not too much to ask for? We are looking to stay between March 22 and March 26 2010, for all 4 nights, but possibly less depending on price. Kurama has an onsen ryokan for a long time, but I don't think they have private baths: http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3933.html In recent years, boring machines have provided the Ohara and Arashiyama areas of Kyoto with some hot spring water and ryokan, but I am not familiar with individual establishments.
