up fushimi inari with a toddler 2009/10/29
Kyoto City
Understand its a long climb up to Fushimi Inari. Is there another way up as I am travelling with a toddler on stroller .

No, but... 2009/10/29
No, if you go to Fushimi Inari, you have to walk.

But, in order to see the torii gates, you do not have to walk the entire way up. Most of the torii are nearer to the bottom, and at any point, you could turn around.

It's not the type of place to take a stroller, though.

Not a good idea 2009/10/30
You will not be able to climb up Fujimi Inari with a small child but You will be able to get to the base of the torii gates which might be enough.

Do not take your stroller as others have advised as it will make the climb difficult. I took my 4 year old and she did very well on the climb up and down, I carried her only a few times and we took frequent breaks. It is a beautiful place, even if you only explore a small section and return the way you came, it is worth the visit.
