Is it possible to travel around the Hakone Circle counterclockwise (standard route) and end at Miyanoshita on a reasonable time by (5PM) in one day starting from Shinjuku Station in Tokyo? I booked a Ryokan there and wonder if its possible or would it be wise to do the Hakone Circle clockwise? If so what would be the proper routes to take?

Yes. Especially so if you try to be in Hakone-Yumoto by around 9am. Then you have ample of time to complete the circle at a relatively slow pace of travel. Clockwise or counterclockwise. It does not matter. Chances of actually seeing Mount Fuji are highest in the early mornings and late afternoons.
