I will go to Japan on 10-20 December 2009. Can anyone advise me where I can go for skii and snow near Tokyo during this period?

A handful of the resorts in Yuzawa have opened already (Gala Yuzawa and Kagura in particular):

Wait until the end of the month. The snow is still man-made in Kagura and you have to ski on ski mats in Gala.
