Is July best time to see lavender?

Hello,

We plan to visit Sapporo in July to see the blooming of lavender. However, we understand the visit cannot be too early or too late.

Can someone please advise when is the BEST week to see the lavender in its FULL BLOOM?

I don't think that Sapporo has much lavender. You better visit the Furano region:

The best timing is mid July.

I spent two weeks on a ''flower trip'' in Hokkaido in mid July 2008. The flowers were in bloom in most of the gardens and farms that I visited then.

You may consider visiting Yurigahara park in Sapporo for lilies. There is also the Hakko no Gakuen in Sapporo for japanese iris.

For lavendar and poppy, you should go to the Furano area (Kamifurano, Nakafurano) as suggested by Uji-san. The major lavender farms such as Tomita, Hinode, Choei are located there.

For sunflowers, you may like to go to Himawari no Sato at Hokuryu.
