Kyoto Subway One Day Card existance 2010/3/9 20:21
I wanted to ask whether does the Kyoto Subway One Day Card exist?

On Japan Guide and Wikitravel, they mention its existence but its not mentioned on the Kyoto City Transport website here:

Is it something the municipal is trying to keep secret from foreign tourists?

I am not sure why they don't publish it on the website. Maybe to keep the page short and simple. There are a lot of other tickets they chose not to introduce.

But there is no doubt that the pass exists:

Cheaper option? 2010/3/10 10:54
Thanks for confirming it Uji.

If that's the case, if I only need to use the subway and city bus(excl. going to Arashimaya) for a day, it would be a cheaper option to buy a City Bus All-day Pass and a Kyoto Subway One Day Card than to buy the Kyoto Sightseeing One-day pass card.

Yes, if you do not visit the more outlying areas like Arashiyama, the combination of the two passes will be cheaper. But note that depending on your itinerary, single tickets or a prepaid card could come even cheaper.
