Hakone-Izu-Nagoya

Just a quick question. After spending two nights at the Moto-Hakone guesthouse I'd like to take a day trip to the Izu peninsula, preferably a beach spot like Shimoda, before heading to Nagoya where the next hostel is booked. Is this possibe? Or should I leave Hakone and head straight to Nagoya? Also is there a bus from Hakone to Izu peninsuala?

It is possible, but I don't recommend it. The little relaxation you would get would probably be more than compensated by the time-consuming transportation, especially if you plan to go far south the peninsula where the best beaches are located.

Or should I leave Hakone and head straight to Nagoya?

I personally would do either that or add an additional night on the Izu Peninsula.

Also is there a bus from Hakone to Izu peninsuala?

There are buses from Moto-Hakone to Atami at the base of the peninsula. And Odawara is not too far from the peninsula, either.
