good place to view Sapporo nightscape?

Hey

I'll be heading to Sapporo next week and I was wanting to try out the Mt. Moiwa Ropeway, so I could view the Sapporo nightscape and sky.

But just my luck, its been closed for renewal until August 2011.

I thought that I could just drive up the mountain myself to the top but the site says that they've closed it off.

Does anyone know any other places that I could drive to, to get a good view?
