Maps of Kyoto and Tokyo 2010/5/3 13:31
Are there any good maps if Kyoto and Tokyo that have points of interest and transportation that I could find online and print out to help plan my trip? Are there any maps that I should purchase? I just want simple, clear maps.

Hello Dana,

Japan National Tourist Organization has a wealth of information. They have a number of offices outside of Japan. Browse their website http://www.jnto.go.jp/eng/ Alternatively, you can do a simple search for JNTO.com that will lead you to this website. On their Home Page, scroll down to the bottom left and click on For Travel Professionals. Look for Regional Information and Practical Guides.

Browsing this website will provide you with a lot of information you may be looking for. At the bottom right corner, click on "contact us" to see where JNTO has offices outside of Japan. You can click on the office nearest you for their contact numbers and e-mail addresses.

Send them an e-mail requesting for the TOURIST maps of Japan, Kyoto, Tokyo and other Cities you may be interested in. They will mail these to you at no cost to you. These are colored maps with major tourist's attraction location noted.

Lonely Planet has some excellent maps of Tokyo and it's neighborhoods in it's Tokyo guidebook. Here is their online map:
