I didn't see this posted anywhere and I assume the answer is yes, but does the shinkansen that departs from Shin-Osaka station arrive in Hiroshima Station? Or is it a different station in Hiroshima? Thanks

Yes Hiroshima station is for both Shinkansen and other JR local lines.
You change there for Miyajima.
