fastest way-Peace Park to Miyajimaguchi?

Hello, we plan on arriving at Hiroshima on the 9.05am train from Kyoto.
We will catch the tram to the Peace Park but then I am uncertain as to our best choice for getting to Miyajima quickly. (using JR pass)

I had planned on taking the tram back to the station and then catching the train to Miyajimaguchi on the Sanyo Line.

Is there instead a tram from the Peace Park directly to Miyajimaguchi or the ferry port which is quicker than returning to the Hiroshima station first? If so what would the tram cost be to travel that far?

thanks for any advice. We dont want to use the ferry from the peace park as it is not JR.

Direct trams are available from Peace Park area to Miyajimaguchi station. But trams run slower than JR trains(by 10 minutes between Nishi-Hiroshima and Miyajimaguchi).

So it doesn't make MUCH difference to transfer from the tram to JR train.

In any case, you dont need to get back to JR Hiroshima station. You can transfer at Yokogawa staiton or Nishi-Hiroshima station on Sanyo Line.

Take tram number 2 from the peace park to Nishi-Hiroshima Station and take the JR Sanyo Line from there to Miyajima-guchi.

Thank you for the responses. Uji the number 2 tram is it from the Museum entrance or the dome entrance?

As there is 8 of us I am thinking we could get 2 taxis with 4 in each to the JR station - maybe close to the same cost as a tram or bus.. do you think so? Is the stations far taxi and traffic wise?

taxi are will be around 1000yen per taxi.
tram fare is 150yen per person from Genbaku Dome Mae station to Nishi-Hiroshima station.

Traffic in central Hiroshima is not very busy, so both taxi and tram work!

The tram stop is next to the A-Bomb Dome.

Just an update- happened to end up taking a taxi from Miayjimaguchi to the Peace Park and paid around 6000 Yen.
