1st time trip 2010/6/15 03:57
Hi,
I am looking at going to Japan for 2 weeks on the 1st of December. I am a 22 year old male traveling alone.
I was thinking of doing 9 days in tokyo, then staying a night in koyoto, a night in osaka, 2 nights in hiroshima and last night in tokyo.

I am wanting to go to Disney, watch baseball and sumo, visit a hot spring, go clubbing.

Does anyone have any reccomendations?

Also I am a little worried about the travel from tokyo to Koyoto,Osaka and Hiroshima, what is the best way to book this? Are there any other things people would reccomend?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Cheers

JR Pass 2010/6/15 12:26
Since you plan to make a return trip between Tokyo and Hiroshima within 7days, 7 day JR Pass provides you with big discount.

Neither Sumo tournament nor NPB baseball games take place in December.

Heavy on Tokyo? 2010/6/15 12:34
Sumo only happens a few times a year. You should look it up if you want to do it, and see if it will be available.

With 9 days in Tokyo, consider day trips to Kamakura (shrines, temples, a giant Buddha - and very close to Tokyo), Hakone (Mt. Fuji, other nature stuff), and/or Nikko (A few very famous shrines, some hot springs and nature nearby). You also might want to consider moving a day or two to Kyoto, one day is not enough there, and I am not even a big Kyoto fan. But perhaps you are not interested in traditional culture at all?

Disney - One of my Japanese friends is a huge Disney geek and urged us to go to Tokyo Disney Sea instead of Tokyo Disney, because it is more unique. We went there and loved it - we got evening admission for only 3000 yen. ^^

Unfortunately I can't advise much about clubbing, you should find plenty of that in any of the big cities I guess.
