some thoughts on your trip... 2010/7/5 19:51
Hi

You seem to have your Tokyo itinerary well sorted out and I'd perhaps only suggest that you might skip Tokyo Tower; at least, not pay for entry... it's pretty overpriced and touristy tacky IMHO and you'll get as good a view (or better) from the free to enter Tokyo Metropolitan Building's Observatories in Shinjuku.

Other than that, 5 days in Shizuoka seems an interesting choice... do you have a special reason for going there, rather than say, Kyoto? If this is your first time to Japan, I'm not sure that I'd recommend spending such a large chunk of your trip in a place which, to be frank, doesn't really offer much of interest to foreign tourists....

... just my opinion of course but whatever you choose, I hope you have a great trip!

Oh I see thanks for the tip about Tokyo tower. My boyfriend lives in Shizuoka...but he might be taking me to Kyoto for a day or two, he knows his town doesn't have much either! ha
