All Nikko Pass and Spacia tickets

Hi. I've been reading through the Todu website and this website but I'm still confused about what tickets to buy.
I had decided to buy the All Nikko Pass and it includes a round trip from Tokyo to Nikko. But I just realised that the round trip does not include the SPACIA limited express tickets. If I buy both the pass and SPACIA tickets, would I be buying two types of train tickets?
Would it make more sense for me to buy the SPACIA tickets and the 1000 yen combination pass for the shrines and then pay for the bus and train rides in Nikko separately? I want to visit Lake Chuzenji and surrounds. Would that be a lot more economical? But time is important to me too as my trip to Nikko is just a day trip.
Thank you.

Note that the Spacia ticket consists of two parts: 1) base fare (1320 yen one way) 2) express supplement (between 1000 and 1400 yen depending on time and day)
The base fare is covered by the All Nikko Pass, but the express supplement has to be paid separately.
