Recommended ryokan in Hakone 2010/7/30 14:33
Is my first time in Japan, I am planning for my second honeymoon. Can someone recommend me any good ryokan in Hakone? It will be good if there is nearby sightseeing areas so our time in the daytime will not be wasted.

Thank you!

Fujiya Hotel 2010/7/30 16:40
Theres lots of cool ryokan that I am sure a good google search will solve, cant remember where I stayed sorry. but Fujiya Hotel is an interesting option. Its done in western style but a long time ago so feels like going back in time and the dining room and bar etc is all quite impressive. Its a really interesting place to stay especially if you are interested in Architecture and western influences on old Japan.

I stayed at the Yoshiike Ryokan, which was a very nice mid-level ryokan. We enjoyed our stay very much.

If you want a more luxurious experience, I hear Gora Kadan is one of the best.

Ryokan Kiritani Hakoneso 2010/8/3 20:46
I really enjoyed the place. It's a small scale ryokan I think run by a family. The place very nicely decorated to very subtle details. I had a chance to talked with the manager lady. She is very into Japanese arts, tea etc so the place reflect the classic Japanese taste.

The room, the food and the onsen was great also.

Their website is at: http://www.japanbooking.info/ryokan/kiritani-hakoneso
