Hello,
I'm browsing this fantastic website in order to plan my upcoming Japan trip. I've wrote down like 10 itineraries, and maybe I ''found'' one I like and I would like to know your thoughts about it.
8-9-10 August: Tokyo 11 Nikko daytrip 12 Tokyo - Takayama with express bus (5 hours) in the early morning 13 Takayama - Kamikochi 14 From Kamikochi or Takayama to Kyoto by train 15-16-17 Kyoto with Nara daytrip 18 Kyoto - Osaka 19 Osaka - Koyasan and night spent there 20 Koyasan - Osaka - Tokyo with Bullet Train 21 Tokyo (some daytrip maybe) 22 Fuji (start from Kawaguchi area, Yoshida trail, night at 8th station hut) 23 Sunrise on top of Fuji, then descent and back to Tokyo for the afternoon 24 Flight home!

I recommend to travel from Tokyo via Matsumoto to Kamikochi first and then continue to Takayama. But note that it will probably be quite difficult to find vacant rooms in Kamkikoshi for mid August now. It is a very busy season.
The rest looks good to me.

Not a bad itinerary in general.
I usually prefer more time in Tokyo and less jumping around from place to place, but that's up to you.

You will probably be dead tired by the time you get to fuji. I had blistered feet on day 2, and couldn't even recognize my feet anymore after 1 week. Try to do too much, and you'll just get burned out, especially with the jet lag and everything.

If you like a medium to fast pace of travel, your itinerary is not too fast. Only if you prefer a slow pace of travel, it might be a little bit busy.
